R&R

Knowing that I needed to catch up on some R&R, I took Thursday and Friday off work. I didn't do much of anything...which was the point! I went outside as little as possible. This is a thermometer on the porch....if only it could record the humidity level as well!!!

Thursday night was the third cake class. The previous week we learned some techniques but ran out of time to decorate our cake. Our class was much more organized this go around and we had time to decorate. This is my cake...very basic. The top is suppose to be a clown...a headless clown at that!!

During the day I watched hummingbirds fly around and make frequent pit stops at one of my many feeders. Hummingbirds are one of my most favorite creatures. Hippos being my second most favorite (don't ask....). Nothing like two extremes, huh? I love when they fly by...you can hear the buzz of their wings flapping a million miles a second. Here are some snap shots. It is hard to get a good shot since they are so dang fast.

I went outside to see if I could get closer shots and the hummingbirds actually came down from the tree. The first shot is of a bird feeding on flowers in the background.
Can you see her? She kind of blends in with the leaves....

Today, Jeff and I did a little shopping. There is nothing that makes me happier than new shoes. That's not true...Tiffany's make me just as happy!!! I splurged just a wee bit today.
