Friday night, I arranged a little going away happy hour for a good friend of mine. Vicky is moving to Chicago. I'm very, very sad to see her go.......
Saturday was my birthday and I wanted it as low key as possible. Next year is a biggie so I will save the excitement for then. During the day, Jeff and I went to the Museum of Science and History (MOSH). Boy, that was a bust! Thankfully we had a buy one-get one free admission coupon. I think if I had paid full price I would have asked for a refund! After that lovely visit, we had lunch on the river at the River City Brewing Company. I had never been and really enjoyed it! We sat on the water with a great view of downtown Jacksonville and some dolphin were swimming close by.
That night, I had planned on a night at the local minor league baseball game, but being that Florida weather is completely unpredictable, no matter what the weather man says, I decided to change plans and have dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. It ended up being a great time (and...of course it did not rain). How can you not have a great time when you are with friends.....and enjoying "interactive" food, as Vicky calls it!!! (how do you like my bib?)
For those that have not been to Joe's....the wait staff put on a dance every 30 minutes. And when it's your birthday.....you dance too, while in costume!
Oh yeah... the cake decorating class has come to an end. Taking that class was such bad timing all around and I am so glad it is over with. Not to mention, I was over the instructor. She seemed to be so sweet and nice at first. Any who, here are the cupcakes I decorated using my new skills. I squished the "rose" which was so kindly referenced as a "cabbage" by the instructor.
