Thankfully today was a holiday or I have no idea how I would have been able to complete the large order I have due on Friday. Not to mention, a shower that I am providing cookies for on the same day.
Liz Morgan PR has commissioned me to make cookies for the Home & Patio Show. I'm not exactly sure who she is giving the cookies to, but I think she is using them as part of her press kits.
I designed a collection that includes a hammer, saw and house and will be making 12 boxes of 10 cookies each. Today I baked up all the cookies and decorated the hammer & saws.
Here is a step by step of how I iced the saws.
First, outline the blade.
Flood the blade. (don't mind the designs...that is a reflection from the flash)
Flood the handle, add the wood grain and metal fasteners.
The completed collection will be posted later this week.

Congratulations on all the work you are doing, Melissa!
I once did a big job for Home Depot corporate that included a screwdriver, gingerbread man in a Home Depot apron and some other tools. My cutters for the tools made cookies that were too fragile. Yours look nice and sturdy.
Great job, they're really cute.
Thanks Bea & Laura!
I opted to not offer the screwdriver and wrench because they are extremely fragile...but so cute! I am extremely nervous about the hammer though. It is fragile too.
I bet the gingerbread man was super cute!
You can also pull out your cutters to make them fatter and slightly less fragile. That's what I did with the screwdriver.
You don't have to ice to the shape of the cookie, lots of times I don't ice all the way to the edges of the cookies.
