One of my favorite things to do when it rains is to curl up with the girls and take a nap. After three full days of non-stop rain and taking endless naps, I will be happy to not see rain for a really, really long time. Tuesday night, I received notification that
UNF would be closed Wednesday. I thought "
woohoo!!!!". Wednesday, I received the notification that we would be closed Thursday. I was again excited, but when I found out that
UNF would be closed yet again Friday, I realized I was over T.S. Fay!!! I have never been so bored in my life. It would be a different story if I could have left the house or worked on projects in the house, but it was literally a waiting game. When will this storm actually hit? Will the tree fall through the house or not? Will we lose power or not? And the fact that I was all by myself made it even worse. Jeff was in TX on business. If Jeff would have been home, we would have battled each other in an endless game of Monopoly!!!
All the worrying aside, we were very lucky to only have some street and yard flooding. Thankfully, the pine tree that I was oh so worried about stayed in tact and we didn't lose power!!
While taking probably my 8th nap within a 72 hour period, I was half sleeping, listening to the rain pounding on the sky light and then all of a sudden, the pounding subsided. Yay! I ran downstairs, put collars/leeshes on the girls and ran outside.....me and everyone else in the neighborhood. Haha! We had all been waiting for the chance to go outside!

The drain is blocked with pine needles from the pine tree that was struck by lightening a while back.

The street to get to our community. The retention pond on the other side of the fence over flowed into the street.

I'm glad you got through the storm okay. We just got a lot of rain and wind but thankfully no flooding.
