Pink Ribbon Bake-Off

A sorority (to not be named) on campus organized a bake-off in order to raise funds to participate in the Breast Cancer Strides.

Aside from the entry being edible (duh), it also had to have pink on/in it.

Of course, I entered my cookies. I prepared three shapes in order to tie the whole theme together:

1. Breast cancer ribbon
2. UNF Osprey
3. Sunflower - sorority flower

I'm sure I violated UNF's Visual Identity Standards by making the Osprey pink....but I had to do it for the cause! It's hard to see in the picture, but I piped the sorority's Greek letters on two of the petals.

I made a package of all three cookies for each judge.

Now, for my rant. This event was by far the most disorganized debacle I have encountered in quite sometime. This was the first annual event so I understand a few bumps (no pun intended) along the way but this was seriously a huge cluster. Only one judge showed up. Because of this it ended up being a free for all and all participants dug in. The one judge didn't even get to see my cookies because instead of splitting up my cookies, three people took the individual bags for themselves. I didn't even get a chance to be judged.....and I put a lot of thought into my entry. Apparently more thought than the actual organizers of the event!

It's not about winning or losing because I wanted to support the cause. However, I absolutely hate disorganization!!!!

I love the cookies. What a disappointment that your hard work was appreciated as it should have been. Were they able to judge a winner despite the disorganization?
